RSVP – Halloween in the Park

Background

Many of you liked the idea of having trick or treat at Buckhorn Park this year, so we are going to give it a try. Please RSVP to let us know you will be setting up a "station" at Buckhorn park.  We don't need to collect street addresses on the RSVP form, but we do need contact information in case last minute changes need to be communicated.  If we don't get more than 15 or 20 families, we'll need to reassess.  By the way, this is not to imply that you can't hand out candy from your home. However, multiple neighbors expressed a concern that they weren't getting very many trick-or-treaters on their street. So we thought we'd try setting up a trick-or-treat area along Mission Ridge (at Buckhorn Park) for anyone interested.

You will probably want to put a sign on your door that says something like: HALLOWEEN IS HAPPENING AT BUCKHORN PARK!  So come to the Park for trick-or-treat!

This will let the Trick-or-Treaters know to go to the park, and won't actually say 'we're not home'.  We will setup chairs along the sidewalk (or grass) facing Mission Ridge.  We don't want to go too far into the park, just have a row of participants close to the street.

We will advertise via Nextdoor and Facebook.  You will want to supply more candy than you usually have at your house.  I would imagine there will be a lot of little boys and ghouls, especially if the Halloween House on Singletree is going to open this year.

Plan to set up at around 5:45PM on October 31.  It will still be daylight savings time, so it won't get dark for a while.
